Octagón Jr. got unmasked on last night’s AAA On Fox by Original El Grande Americano, and a new report notes that the finish didn’t go down as expected. Last night’s show saw the OG Americano take on Octagón Jr. in singles action. The match went a little under five and a half minutes, ending when Americano pulled Octagón’s mask off and then made him tap out to the ankle lock.

Traditionally, unmasking a wrestler is grounds for a disqualification in AAA. BodySlam+ reports that, according to sources in both AAA and WWE, that was supposed to happen in the match. However, there was a miscommunication, and the referee did not call for the DQ. Octagón tapped right after the unmasking, which led to a massive amount of heat from the crowd.

The site points out that both the English and Spanish commentary teams were very confused by the finish due to the miscommunication problem.

After the match, OG Americano was confronted by El Grande Americano II, and they began brawling. Americano II then challenged OG Americano to a mask vs. mask match, which is reportedly planned for AAA Noche de Los Grandes on May 30th. AAA has yet to officially announce that date.
