Backstage Note on Piper Niven and Concerns Over Her Neck Injury

As previously reported, Piper Niven was sidelined with what was rumored to be a “career-ending” neck injury. The latest edition of Fightful Select Answers Q&A has an update on her status.
According to Sean Ross Sapp’s report, while there was initially a great deal of concern for Niven and her in-ring future, people close to the wrestler didn’t think the injury would permanently end her career.
Earlier in October, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Niven and WWE were trying to figure out how to determine the “best course of action” regarding the treatment of her injured neck.
Piper Niven last wrestled on the August 22 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, where she faced Charlotte Flair in a singles bout. She also defeated the 14-time Women’s Champion. The win earned the Green Regime a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.
Unfortunately, the scheduled title bout was canceled at the last minute due to Niven’s absence. The Green Regime’s Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre would later go on to challenge Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles on the September 19 edition of WWE SmackDown. However, the then-reigning champions were victorious.
Additionally, Piper Niven shared some photos on her Instagram account in October, showing her taking a walk around Savannah, Georgia with her dog. Hopefully, that’s a strong sign that she’s recovering and in good spirits.
