Baron Corbin Aiming To Be ‘Bit More Selfish’ in His Current WWE Run

Baron Corbin is aiming to be a “bit more selfish” in his current WWE stint, as he aims to accomplish things he couldn’t during his previous tenure with the company.

Corbin returned to WWE in early July, attacking Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes and setting his sights on the United States Championship. He would go on to capture the title from Trick at SummerSlam: Minnesota last month.

During a conversation with The Sportster ahead of Sunday Night’s Main Event, Corbin noted that in his previous stint with WWE, he tried to be a “nice guy” who wanted to make certain guys look good and help his opponents grow in the ring.

Corbin said he no longer wishes to be that guy, as he believes he has limited time to achieve what he couldn’t during his previous stint. He declared everyone as a “target” and vowed to be selfish this time around. Here’s what Baron Corbin said:

“The first time around, I was a nice guy. I tried to be a person that was like, ‘I can help everybody get along. I can make certain guys look good if they need help. I can help guys learn in the ring. There’s a lot of things I can do to help everybody grow.’ I think this time, I’m looking at it going, ‘I’m going to be a little bit more selfish. This is about me, and this is about accomplishing the things I want.’ Trick’s got a 10 or 15-year career left in front of him. I don’t have that. So If I have to sacrifice Lil Yachty or Trick or Cody or Punk or Gunther or Finn, I mean, there’s a long list. If it’s Bron Breakker, former Wolf Dog, if he steps in the way, he’s getting run over. There are no friends in this run for me. Everyone is a target if they’re holding what I want.”

Corbin had a night to forget at WWE SNME: Atlanta, as he failed to defeat Lil Yachty in a five-minute limit match and then lost the United States Championship to Trick Williams.
