Claudio Castagnoli Explains What Makes Forbidden Door a ‘Unique’ Event

AEW star Claudio Castagnoli recently opened up about what makes Forbidden Door a unique pay-per-view.

The fifth annual crossover event, featuring wrestlers from AEW, NJPW, CMLL, and STARDOM, will be hosted by the SAP Centre in San Jose, California, on Sunday, June 28.

Castagnoli recently appeared on 107.7 The Bone to promote Forbidden Door 2026. When the host asked the former CMLL World Champion about what makes the upcoming pay-per-view unique, Claudio said that the event offers an opportunity for obscure wrestlers to showcase their talent against the very best in the business while also allowing AEW stars to show why they are the best.

He said:

“I mean, I feel AEW pay-per-views are the best bang for your buck that you can get. And also, the pay-per-views are always… they are always incredible. They always deliver and Forbidden Door… If you hear the phrase ‘Forbidden Door,’ it’s always about something that hasn’t happened yet, that’s like interpromotional or international, and it kinda became a phrase. But this is the true OG Forbidden Door. Started with New Japan and AEW, and now we have Ring of Honor, CMLL, and STARDOM all in the mix. And it’s just… It’s wrestlers from different promotions that you may have never heard of, but that you won’t forget stepping into the AEW ring, just trying to prove to the world and show the world how great they are. And that’s always a great place, also for myself and for the Death Riders and for anybody in AEW to step out and show everybody why we’re the best.”
