Claudio Castagnoli vs. Ultimo Guerrero Title Bout, More AEW Stars Set for CMLL Dream Matches Event

AEW star Claudio Castagnoli recently defeated Gran Guerrero last month at CMLL Viernes Spectacular to win the CMLL World Heavyweight Title. Now, he’s set to defend the title against Gran Guerrero’s brother, Ultimo Guerrero, later this month at the CMLL Dream Matches event.

CMLL announced several new matches for the event during last night’s CMLL Informa show. The upcoming show will feature multiple CMLL vs. AEW matchups.

Also announced for the card, Mascara Dorada vs. Speedball Mike Bailey for the Historic Welterweight Championship. There will also be a singles bout featuring Neón vs. Kevin Knight.

Dream Matches marks the first time Castagnoli and Ultimo Guerrero have faced each other one-on-one in singles competition. The night after Castagnoli beat Gran Guerrero to win the CMLL World Title, he successfully teamed with Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta to beat Ultimo Guerrero, Difunto, and Esfinge in a trios bout at CMLL Sabados De Coliseo on November 29.

Now, Claudio Castagnoli aims to keep the CMLL World Title around his waist and in the Death Riders’ camp. CMLL Dream Matches takes place on December 19 at Arena Mexico in Mexico City. Here’s the updated lineup:
