CM Punk garnered headlines after confronting a fan who was filming Bayley and AJ Lee after WrestleMania 42, and a new report has a note about how WWE is handling the incident. As noted, the former World Heavyweight Champion smacked a phone out of the hand of the fan who followed Bayley and Lee to where they were trying to have a private moment and filmed them. Bayley had told the guy to “get out of here” and he went to continue filming, only to have Punk smack the phone down.
According to Fightful Select, Punk faced no disciplinary action from WWE for the incident. The fan had told TMZ, who released the fan’s original video, that he didn’t plan to press charges or sue and instead wanted an apology from Punk.
There’s been no indication that CM Punk has apologized or plans to. The incident put a spotlight on a host of concerns regarding disrespectful fans over the weekend, which included incidents such as Booker T being filmed in a bathroom and Sean Waltman being hit by a fan. Outside of WWE, Elayna Black accused a fan of sexually assaulting her by groping her during WrestleCon.
