CM Punk Retains World Heavyweight Title On WWE Raw Against Bron Breakker

CM Punk is still the World Heavyweight Champion, defeating Bron Breakker to retain the title on this week’s WWE Raw. Punk defeated the Vision member in the main event of Monday night’s show to hold onto his championship during a chaotic match that pitted youth against experience.

The Vision came down late in the match when Punk was in control, going after Punk. However, Punk got an assist as Dragon Lee and Penta came out to fight the group off.

Punk and Breakker traded nearfalls and submissions late in the match until Breakker took over and went for a GTS. Punk countered and locked in an STF. Breakker was close to tapping but fought his way to the ropes to force the break. Punk then grabbed Breakker back and reapplied the hold, but Paul Heyman hit the apron to distract Punk. Punk grabbed Heyman and knocked him off the apron.

Breakker went for a spear but Punk dodged. Punk went for a suicide dive to the outside and Breakker decked him. Breakker climbed to the top and leaped at Punk, splashing him through the announce table. Breakker went for a spear but Punk countered with a knee, then hit the GTS for the pinfall win. Punk’s title reign stands at 66 days, having won the title at Saturday Night’s Main Event in November.
