Cody Rhodes Comments On Introducing UFC’s Tom Aspinall At WWE Live Event
Cody Rhodes introduced interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall at a WWE live event in Manchester earlier this month, and he recently weighed in on the moment. Aspinall shared the ring with Rhodes and Gunther at the live event, and Rhodes shared his thoughts on the synergy between between the sibling companies in WWE’s vlog about the tour.
“The fan bases are very, very different in terms of who comes to WWE, who comes to UFC,” Rhodes said (per Fightful). “However, the mission is very much the same, just taking over the globe in terms of sport and in terms of sport entertainment. This was just the perfect match.”
He continued, “I was so happy, when I found out that I would be the one to bring Tom out. That was just a really great thing for all of us and happy to do it and hope we do more of it. But as we know, the audience is very different. Not everybody gets the big pop. We got to give it to Tom. Tom got the big, big superstar pop. So that’s a really good start and we may have to just end it there.”
The live event took place on October 16th as part of the company’s UK tour.
