From TNA No Surrender 2012: Champions Daniels and Kazarian defeated Kurt Angle and AJ Styles @ 19:310 via pin [****]

– Follow all of my reviews at this link.

Katarina vs. Scarlett Bordeaux: Bordeaux attacks at the bell and hits a meteora variation and dumps Katarina to the floor. Grado catches her and sends her back in. Katarina gets a sunset flip for 2. She dumps Bordeaux who falls into Grado’s arms, and he drops her the moment Katarina gets upset. Back in and Katarina lays the boots to Bordeaux and follows with a flapjack. Katarina then misses the missile dropkick, allowing Bordeaux to take control and hit the corner ass spot WWE’s Naomi (slamming Katarina’s face into her ass repeatedly) always used to do. The running knee strike gets 2. Bordeaux tries to seduce Grado, but he backs away. Katarina gets pissed and lays into her with strikes. The monkey flip follows and then a Samoan drop gets 2. Katarina heads up top and Bordeaux crotches her and hits a rough looking iconoclasm. Bordeaux counters back, and hits the back breaker for the win. Katarina defeated Scarlett Bordeaux @ 6:00 via pin [*¾] This was rough and far from smooth and included some wrestling underwater moments from both.

We go around the ring with King. King shits on Toronto and proclaims NYC to be so much better. He put a hit out on Konnan because he’s old and out of touch, and needs to walk away. King is best friends with Homicide and says the OGz were sick of being on the sidelines and praises Homicide for training so man guys still working today. King says that they make business better. King loves sports and going to concerts, especially AFI. Josh largely annoys King most of the time, and is fearing for his life. King says he and the OGz did nothing wrong, Konnan wronged he and the OGz with the new “young boys” version of LAX.

Champions Daniels and Kazarian vs. Kurt Angle and AJ Styles: Going into the match there were a lot of questions due to the injury to Kurt Angle, but despite that, they still delivered a hell of a match. They had a back-story and previous match to work off of, and that all worked well here. AJ, Kaz and Daniels really carried the load, and Angle actually did way more than I thought he would here. They did a ton of awesome spots and near falls, and took a crowd that was cold and got them red hot by the finish. But the bottom line is that when you put these guys together, you’re going to get something really good. When all was said and done, it wasn’t quite as good as their previous PPV match, due to lack of crowd reaction at the beginning and the finish killing some of the heat, but a great match and easily the best thing on the show. These guys simply deliver, end of story. The finish fits with how Daniels has been booked, and leaves things open for a rematch at BFG. I really do not think you could ask for more from these guys, especially under the conditions they were faced with. Champions Daniels and Kazarian defeated Kurt Angle and AJ Styles @ 19:310 via pin [****]

Sami Callihan vs. Fenix: Jake & Dave are out with Sami. Sami rushes Fenix and lays in strikes right away. Fenix battles back; hits a RANA and follows with a dropkick. He takes out Jake and follows with a lucha are drag. The tope wipes out oVe on the floor, and back in, the swanton connects and Fenix covers for 2. Fenix follows with chops, Jake trips him up, and that allows Sami to hit the complete shot for 2. Sami grounds things and slows the pace. Fenix fights to his feet but runs into a vicious lariat. They work to the floor and Sami lays in chops, slams Fenix to the barricade, and backing, Sami covers for 1. Jake now chokes out Fenix in the ropes, and Sami then attacks the mask before grounding things again and covering for 2. Sami pummels him with grounded strikes. Fenix battles back, hits a superkick and heads up top, but Sami tosses him off and onto the ramp. Sami follows, teases the powerbomb, but Fenix escapes and hits the lethal injection on the ramp. Sami back in and Fenix runs in with a step up cutter for 2. Post break, and they are trading strikes. Fenix adds in kicks but Sami cuts him off and hits a powerbomb for 2. Sami locks on a half crab and transitions into an STF. He now moves onto the crossface, but Fenix makes the ropes. Sami follows with strikes, pulls Fenix up top, and Fenix cuts him off and runs from the ramp into a SUPER RANA. The code red follows for 2. Sami rakes the eyes, but Fenix catches him with a spin kick. They trade, but Fenix lays him out with a big spin kick for 2. Fenix up top and oVe grab him and Pentagon makes the save. Fenix now hits the muscle buster and picks up the win. Fenix defeated Sami Callihan @ 18:27 via pin [***¾] This was a very good and fun match to kick off the show. It continues the feud between oVe & the Lucha Brothers, further Sami’s descent into madness, and was a hell of a way to kick off the show.

– End Scene.

This week’s episode of Impact Xplosion was a good episode, thanks to a fun interview with King, and a great throwback match and a very, very good match from last week’s Impact. Skip the opening match though.
