CZW Owner Apologizes For Using Homophobic Slur During Promo

– CZW owner DJ Hyde has apologized after using a homophobic slur during a promo on Wednesday evening at an event in Brooklyn. Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Hyde was cutting a promo before a death match against Casanova Valentine at the show, which took place at the Tender Trap bar, when an audience member heckled him by yelling, “F**k you.”

In response, Hyde said, “Why do you want to f**k me? You stupid f**king f****t. When did Tender Trap become a gay bar?”

The site contacted Hyde about the incident after video of the event went viral on social media. Hyde said his “poor choice of words” was “very regrettable” and was an attempt to get heel heat.

“I’m very upset I said it, more than you know,” Hyde said. “I don’t want to make any excuses. I regret it so much. I’m not a bigot, a racist or a homophobe. It was wrong of me.”

Hyde also addressed the situation on Twitter, posting:
