The Motor City Machine Guns’ time in WWE is coming to an end, and a report has some details about their exit and where some expect them to end up. As reported, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin were among those let go by WWE on Friday as part of their roster cuts. Sabin has since confirmed the team’s exit from the company.

According to Fightful Select, the Machine Guns will be free of their WWE contract in July, as part of the 90-day clause in their contracts. The site notes that they spoke with sources in TNA, who said they would always be welcome there but expect that they will end up in AEW.

AEW was interested in the Motor City Machine Guns in 2024 and an offer was made, but they chose to go to WWE after the latter company matched the offer. It is not clear at this point whether AEW has made contact with them.

According to sources in WWE, the two seemed like they were aware that they would stay busy outside WWE and plan to continue wrestling. They will also continue to work on their band, GRPPLNG. Company sources said that the two seemed as if they hoped to wrestle more in WWE but were happy to be used. The two were not planned to travel to the Smackdown tapings last week.
