Details On Viewership, PPV Buys and Google Searches for WWE Crown Jewel
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter updated numbers for the viewership and more of WWE Crown Jewel, which was the most successful Saudi Arabia show to date. WWE even had an internal memo praising it as the most watched international PLE ever.
It was the first show outside of the US to get a million views on streaming, beating the record set by the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018. Viewership was up 70% on Peacock from last year’s Crown Jewel, outpacing the increase in Peacock subscribers (which was 61% at the time). Viewership was also up 42% from Elimination Chamber this year and up from Clash at the Castle.
Google searches were around 300,000, the highest they’ve been for these shows. 200,000 of those were for Logan Paul.
Traditional PPV buys were around 6,500. That’s the lowest of any WWE PPV ever and down 39.7% from Extreme Rules. Of course, the show wasn’t in the normal time slot, but this was also lower than other Saudi Arabia shows (some of which were on Thursday afternoons). It was down 18.6% in PPV buys from the 8,000 for Elimination Chamber.
