Donald Trump Calls Hulk Hogan “The Huckster” in Social Media Post
U.S. President Donald Trump recently appeared on Netflix’s Hulk Hogan docu-series Real American to talk about their friendship, which Hogan cited as his reason for becoming political after many years of not endorsing. In a recent post on Trump’s Truth Social, however, he probably inadvertently used an old, derogatory nickname, proclaiming that, “We all miss the Huckster!”

(To quote Kurt Angle, it’s true, it’s true, per Fightful.)
Chances are that Trump, or whoever posts on his behalf, is simply the victim of auto-correct, as many of us are on a daily basis. But for wrestling fans of the ’90s, it brings up an old memory. “The Huckster” was a character created by Vince McMahon to mock Hulk Hogan as an elderly has-been after he joined the competition, WCW.
Along with “Scheme Gene” and “The Nacho Man,” these parody characters appeared in WWE’s “Billionaire Ted” skits mocking Ted Turner as a clueless, corrupt, prejudiced Southerner. At WrestleMania XII, the vignettes culminated in a special, pre-taped Geriatric Match, which concluded in both Huckster and Nacho Man having heart trouble, and Ted running afoul of the FTC.
It’s unlikely Trump was referring to that specific sketch, but his administration retains close ties with WWE.
