  • King Booker with Queen Sharmell enters in a limo and are greeted by Heyman.

    Extreme Rules Match
Sabu, Tommy Dreamer and Sandman vs. Test, Mike Knox and Matt Striker

The Match: What’s with all of these six wrestler matches lately? I’m not complaining though; they’ve all been fun and entertaining. Dreamer and Knox lockup to begin, and Knox gains the early advantage. Dreamer counters with a hip toss, but Knox fights back with a club to the back as Striker tags in. Matt quickly tags Knox back in, and Dreamer nails the Cactus Clothesline. Test attacks Tommy on the outside as Striker knocks Sandman off the apron. The refs help Sandman to the back, and we head into a commercial break.

We return with Test and Knox pounding away on Tommy, and with Sandman still in the back. Test tags Striker in, and Matt delivers a club to the back and applies a headlock. Striker makes the cover, but only gets too, and tags in Test. Test whips Dreamer hard into the turnbuckle, and delivers some stomps. Knox now tags in and applies a bear hug. Mike misses a leg drop and Tommy nails a reverse DDT, and makes the tag to Sabu. Sabu cleans house and goes up top, but Test shoves the ref into the ropes and is Disqualified. After the match, Test hits his swinging neck breaker on Dreamer, as Knox nails a leg drop from the top rope onto Sabu. But here’s Sandman returning, and nails cane shots on everyone as Striker runs away.

The Review: A nice opening match for the third straight weeks, though a little sloppy. **1/2

The Aftermath: I’m loving these opening segments on ECW now, and it’s nice to see Striker get some air time in ECW.

  • Heyman introduces Booker and Sharmell to C.W. Anderson and Stevie Richard, as well as Balls Mahoney.
  • Commercials.

Kevin Thorne w/Ariel vs. Balls Mahoney w/Francine

The Match: Mixed tag match next week, maybe? Thorne attacks to start and pounds away in the turnbuckle. He nails an elbow and throws Balls to the outside, and slide out of the ring. They two get back in and Balls nails a reverse cradle suplex for two. Thorne charges towards Mahoney, but is countered with the Balls Combo, followed by a spine buster for two. Francine attacks Ariel outside, but in the ring, Thorne picks up the win with the Crucifix Powerbomb.

The Review: Not much of a match, but it was quick and fun. *1/4

The Aftermath: I’m liking this feud, but they definitely had to spice it up and they did with the addition of Francine.

  • Heyman now introduces Booker and Sharmell to the FBI and CM Punk. Booker calls him “a Punk”, but Punk tells him that he’s “CM Punk” and a straight edge. Punk as that one day he’d like to face Booker for the Championship.
  • Commercials; the WWE Championship DVD looks and sounds awesome, I just have to actually get myself to buy it. I was on WWE Shop earlier and was tempted to buy it, and still might. I’m definitely getting the Pillman DVD, though.

“The Reject Jobber” Shannon Moore vs. CM Punk

The Match: They lockup to start and are broken up. They lock up again as Kelly Kelly looks on. The two trade punches before Punk nails a leg lariat. Punk applies a Mexican Stretch, but Moore gets in his mandatory offense. Knox comes out and takes Kelly Kelly away. Moore goes for a Flying Crossbody, but Punk counters with a Gutbuster, and Moore is ROCKED with a kick. Shannon fights back with a side kick for two. Moore climbs upon the top rope, but is thrown off the top rope and is just destroyed from that point on. Punk wins by submission with the Uranagi.

The Review: Moore got in much more offense than I thought he would, and this was just a very enjoyable match. *3/4

The Aftermath: Punk just keeps piling up the wins. He’ll continue to do this for a while, but when he gets pushed to the top, it will happen fast.

  • Booker and Sharmell now run into Rob Van Dam, and they set up an Extreme Rules Match between Booker and Van Dam tonight in the main event.
  • Commercials.
  • Dupree cuts a quick promo, and we gets clips of Cena/The Marine

    Extreme Rules Match
Rob Van Dam vs. King Booker

The Match: Early on in the match, Booker shoves Van Dam off the turnbuckle to the outside. Booker beats him down and throws him into the steel steps. Booker nails a suplex, as a small “RVD” chant starts up. Booker continues to pound away until he slides Van Dam back into the ring. He grabs a chair, but Van Dam counters with a roundhouse kick. Booker fights back and does a Royal Spin-a-rooni, but Van Dam knocks King down and nails a dropkick with the chair. Van Dam keeps on the attack with a leg drop and the Rolling Thunder with a chair on Booker for a two count. Van Dam nails a Split-Legged Moonsault for two. Booker counters by catapulting Rob right into a chair set up in the turnbuckle. Booker attempts a piledriver onto a chair, Van Dam reverses out of it, and Booker nails a spinebuster on the chair instead. Van Dam fights back and climbs upon the top rope, and nails the Five Star Frog Splash. Holly runs out and nails Van Dam with a chair, and then the Alabama Slam. Booker gets to his feet and nails the Scissors Kick for the win.

The Review: This was good stuff until the run in, but still a solid match nonetheless. **¾

The Aftermath: I’m liking that they’re continuing the Holly/Van Dam feud, but it’s starting to grow stale. It was just a dull way to end the show.

Overall: Not too much of note occurred, but overall it was an enjoyable show that had a good flow to it. All of the segments were booked well and got somewhere. They’re starting to progress the show well, but they need to keep spicing each show up a bit. Still, it’s a thumbs up from me this week.
