Artificial Intelligence is a hot-button issue in all big companies right now, with many people misunderstanding its uses. As regards making hazy-looking, uncanny-valley animation that amalgamates other people’s work, it’s not popular with creatives. That’s just generative AI, but it’s what comes to mind when people use the term.

When WWE announced they’d be integrating AI, many fans feared it meant a computer would be coming up with storylines. The practice has been a little different so far. And one who’s in favor of it is Eric Bischoff, who was a multifaceted businessman before getting into wrestling.

In an interview with Action Network, Bischoff said, “I was happy to hear it, because I think anybody in the entertainment business in general who’s not looking at AI, and how to integrate it, and figure out the best use for it is negligent in their duties.”

Qualifying people’s misconceptions, he clarified. “I noticed that a lot of people in the internet wrestling community went, ‘Oh my gosh, you’re going to replace Paul Levesque with a computer.’ No, people. Creative will always be driven by the human imagination. That’s never going to change.”

Where he feels it will help the most is in the research department, saying, “That time-consuming, laborious grind of pouring through volumes and volumes of notes on the internet, right? You’re locked down for days and weeks, sometimes, doing research that you can now do with an AI in, I don’t know, two, three minutes, the kind of research that you can use to help build stories.”
