Backstage Details On If Ethan Page Getting Busted Open at WWE NXT Halloween Havoc Was Planned

There’s an update on WWE NXT North American Champion Ethan Page following last weekend’s WWE NXT Halloween Havoc. During the event, Ethan Page beat El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. to retain his title in a Day of the Dead Match.

According to a report by PWInsider Elite (via WrestlingInc.com), Ethan Page getting busted open during the match wasn’t planned. Page reportedly suffered a cut when he accidentally hit the ring steps.

Despite suffering the injury, Page is not expected to miss any time away from the ring, and he will reportedly be back in action soon.

As noted, after the match, Ethan Page appeared in a promo video, angrily declaring himself as “the best professional wrestler in the world.” He said during the promo, “Nobody has defended their championship against as many locker rooms or wrestlers around the world. Me. People have said it. For year after year after year, because they want to boost their ego. I am the best professional wrestler in the world.”

Additionally, Page offered anyone to try and come for his North American Title, stating, “And if you wanna try and come here for this. You wanna show up in WWE, you’re coming to try and stop the most historic title reign in company history.”

Ethan Page won the North American Title after beating Ricky Saints to win the title earlier in May. He’s now held the belt for 154 days.
