TNA Wrestling fans now have more context around what Frankie Kazarian was dealing with during the company’s biggest shows this month. The veteran revealed he worked through a serious hand injury while remaining active in the World Championship picture.
Kazarian shared on X/Twitter that he fractured the first metacarpal in his right hand during a December 7 match against Bear Bronson. The injury required surgery, which took place less than a month before TNA’s high-profile stretch of events. Despite that, Kazarian continued wrestling without missing major appearances.
Just 29 days after surgery, Kazarian competed on the iMPACT debut episode on AMC. He also took part in the violent Texas Death Match at TNA Genesis. Both matches came while his hand was still healing and held together with surgical hardware. He noted that working through pain is part of the job and something he chooses to manage privately. The injury did not stop him from chasing the TNA World Championship or performing on national television.
“I wrestled the @ThisIsTNA on @AMC_TV premier World Title match & the Genesis Texas Death Match 29 days out of a surgically repaired fracture of the first metacarpal bone of my right hand. Suffered in my match against @bearbronsonBC It didn’t stop me then, it won’t stop me now.”
Kazarian entered the new year as TNA World Champion before losing the title to Mike Santana in Dallas. The former champion did not use the injury as an excuse. Instead, he framed it as part of the reality of high-level wrestling for decades. Even with many adversities working against him, he continues to perform in top storylines and deliver when called upon.
For now, Kazarian has not announced any downtime. His comments suggest he plans to keep moving forward.
