Grayson Waller on His NXT Championship Triumph at Heatwave 2026: “I’m Not Surprised”

Grayson Waller isn’t surprised with his epic triumph at NXT Heatwave 2026.

Waller participated in a Fatal Four-Way Match for the NXT Championship against defending champ Tony D’Angelo and fellow challengers, Zilla Fatu and Cruz Montana, in the main event of Heatwave 2026 yesterday afternoon.

The closing moments of the match saw Cruz Montana execute Spin the Block on D’Angelo. However, before he could cover Tony for the pinfall, Grayson Waller stormed back into the ring and took out Montana with a Stunner and subsequently pinned D’Angelo to capture his first singles championship in WWE.

In a digital exclusive shared by WWE NXT’s X handle earlier today, Waller reflected on his NXT Championship triumph, noting that he isn’t surprised at all. The Australian said he took the risk of returning to NXT and that he wasn’t demoted.

“I’m not surprised, are you? I didn’t come back here to be another number. I didn’t get demoted. I took the risk, I came back, and you’re welcome,” he said.
