Jake Doyle has undergone successful surgery to repair the bicep tear he suffered on AEW Dynamite late last month, according to a new report. As previously noted, Doyle suffered an injury in the AEW World Tag Team Championship match on the January 28th episode of Dynamite. Doyle and Mark Davis challenged FTR for the titles and during the match, he tore his bicep during a spot on the apron where he took a DDT from Cash Wheeler. He landed hard on the ring apron and was seen calling out that he tore his bicep.
Fightful Select reports that Doyle had successful surgery this week to repair the bicep tear. At this time, there’s no confirmed word how long he may be out of action. A surgery for a bicep tear typically results in around seven months out.
Doyle, formerly Jake Something, signed with AEW at the start of the year and debuted on the January 7th episode of Dynamite as a new member of the Don Callis Family. The match in which he got injured was his second bout for AEW. Doyle said on social media after the injury:
“DOWN BUT NEVER OUT MOTHER F**KER!!”
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Jake Doyle on a quick and full recovery.
