Good evening sickos! We have arrived at Revolution Weekend, and it’s the final stop before the big event itself, as Collision presents our go-home show this evening. That means one last final push for the hype train to whet the whistle for the pay-per-view, as well as giving us our Saturday night dose of All Elite action.

Tonight’s main course will undoubtedly be our lucha offering, with Andrade El Idolo taking on Mascara Dorada. That’s a great warm-up match for Andrade, who faces Bandido tomorrow, and he’s in with a real chance of scoring back-to-back MOTNs.

We’ll also see Kevin Knight face El Clon, Mark Davis face Komander, and The Demand vs the Bang Bang Gang. Plus, Lena Kross is back in singles action as a warm-up for her TBS title shot on tomorrow’s Zero Hour…which likely doesn’t bode well for her opponent tonight, poor Mina Shirakawa.

So with all that in mind, let’s gear up for our go-home edition of AEW Collision – enjoy the show!

Location: San Jose, CA

Venue: San Jose Civic Center

Commentators: Nigel McGuinness & Tony Schiavone

*We are live-to-tape with our opening pyro, and Tony Schiavone runs down our card for the evening. And Kevin Knight makes his way out for our opening contest.

Kevin Knight vs El Clon

Quick start with Knight trying to get the upper hand, but Clon cuts that off with a slap to the face. Both men spring to their feet, Knight grabs the arm and hits an arm drag from the top, plancha to the floor but Clon pulls out the apron skirting and Knight crotches himself on it! They battle on the outside, Clon with a suplex on the floor. Reverse figure four applied by Clon once they get back into the ring, but Knight manages to grab the ropes to break it. Sky High by Knight! Leaping clothesline connects, tilt-a-whirl body slam and a UFO splash gets a 2 count. Knight planchas over the turnbuckles to the outside to take out Clon as we head to commercial.

During the break, Knight connects with a crossbody into the ring for another 2 count. Clon counters a dive and hits a modified gourdbuster. Stomp to the chest as Clon poses for the crowd, and he hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, pins for a 2 count. Strikes exchanged between both men, Clon dodges a leaping lariat with a matrix evasion. PK on the apron, double stomp to the back and a moonsault from Clon! Quebrada, 1, 2, no. Clon heads up top, both men duke it out, with Knight looking for a superplex. He gets pushed off, leaps back up and connects with the superplex, but can’t make the cover. Back and forth with more elbows, roll up by Clon for 2. Tight cover again from Clon for 2, Knight responds with a dropkick. Boot to the face, Clon with a series of strikes and a powerbomb! 1, 2, NO. Knight counters into a pinning attempt for 2, backslide gets 2 as well. Leaping DDT is blocked, Clon dumps Knight to the apron. Springboard lariat! Knight back up top, UFO splash! 1, 2, 3!

Winner: Kevin Knight

Time: 12:24

Rating: ***1/4 – Two up-and-comers in AEW getting some time to shine, and as Knight is the one who has the rocket strapped to him, he was of course the one who got to shine brighter. Knight challenges for the trios titles tomorrow so this worked well as an appetizer.

*The Babes of Wrath worry about being in over their heads. Willow reminds Harley that they’ve always overcome the odds. She’ll take care of Lena Kross in the zero hour, and they’ll both go out swinging. Harley says they’ll make Bayne & Kross eat glitter and *BLEEP* out cotton candy,

Mark Davis vs Komander

Hip toss from Davis to start as he asserts his authority, playing to the size difference. Komander with some kicks and he tries a headscissors but Davis catches him. Komander gets arm control, hops around the ropes and goes for a top rope hurracanrana but Davis counters with a buckle bomb. Komander springboards in and hits the tijeras, Davis spills to the apron, and Komander looks for a sunset flip to the outside….but Davis sits out, crashing down onto the chest of Komander! Davis whips Komander around the ringside area, and sits on the buckles to let the ref begin the count out.

Back from break, Davis delivers a scoop slam, misses the senton though. Komander with a dropkick to create some space. Flying forearm from Komander has no real effect, dropkick to the leg helps though. Handspring back elbow, Komander rolls through and hits a shotgun dropkick from the top. Davis to the floor, Komander to the ropes, moonsault to the floor! Cover, just a 1 count. Davis evades some more flips and smacks right into Komander with a big time shoulder block. DDT attempt from Komander, didn’t quite get it, Davis suplexes him anyway. Davis gets Komander down in the corner but Komander with a tijeras, goes up top, Davis meets him there. Enziguri, and Komander with a sunset flip, 1, 2, no!

Komander back to the top rope…450 but he eats the knees. Lariat from Davis! 1, 2, NO. Davis gets a run up, Komander counters into an octopus but Davis shrugs him off. Drop toe hold into the ropes goes Davis, tiger feint kick from Komander! Up top, Cielito Lindo but Komander lands on his feet. Enziguri from Davis. Sit out piledriver connects! 1, 2, 3!

Winner: Mark Davis

Time: 11:53

Rating: *** – Much like the previous match, this was a way of giving Davis some extra heat before his trios title defense tomorrow. Good way of showing how Davis can toss luchadores around as he will no doubt intend to do at Revolution when he steps in the ring with Mistico.

*Post-Dynamite, Clark Connors says they thought they saw something in Roderick Strong but it turns out Strong’s just a little bitch. David Finlay says that’s assured him a very special spot on their hitlist. The Dogs vs Strong Cassidy & Darby in a Tornado Trios match tomorrow night.

*We get a special look at Mascara Dorada. Dorada faces Andrade in tonight’s main event. Can’t wait, on paper that’s a fantastic match.

*Rocky Romero talks about the Blackjack battle royal for the National championship, and he’s bringing his A-game. RUSH & Dralistico declare themselves, as does Scorprio Sky. Garcia says he’s a winner. Bowens wants to prove to HOOK that he’s a killer. Ciampa says Briscoe was just the beginning – he came here to take it all.

Triangle of Madness vs Tatevik, Viva Van & Karisma

Skye Blue boots her opponent in the face, and Hart comes in for the double team gourdbuster. Thekla tags in as the Sisters take two of the girls off the apron. SPEAR to Karisma! 1, 2, 3!

Winners: Triangle of Madness

Time: 1:04

Rating: N/R – Pure dominance from the Women’s champion who will likely not have quite such an easy night tomorrow.

*Thekla grabs a mic after the match. She is sick and tired of hearing about Kris Statlander. She’s sick of a woman who makes a challenge and then runs and hides. Statlander is afraid of Thekla, she can’t handle Thekla. She’s so much less than Thekla and tomorrow she can’t run.

Kris Statlander’s music hits, and she heads down to the ring The Sisters of Sin try to intercept but they get taken out on the floor. Statlander grounds Thekla and now pulls out a strap! She throws the strap to Thekla and takes her jacket off, turning her back on Thekla. Thekla gets the strap and obliges, whipping her in the back, and Statlander just takes it! Again! Kris drops to a knee but gets back up. Multiple strap shots, whipping her all over now. Statlander is back up! Badass. But noooo, Thekla attacks her from behind, clubbing blows to the back of the neck, and she spits on Statlander before posing to a chorus of boos from the fans. Thekla grabs her title belt and leaves her challenger lying.

Statlander grabs a mic. She doesn’t want Thekla to be afraid of her. Be afraid of what she will have to do to keep Statlander down! Yeah that was pretty cool, Statlander looked so badass in that.

*Marina Shafir backstage reflects on asking Toni Storm for advice some years ago, who told her to stay in her lane and keep doing what she’s doing. Shafir doesn’t care what Storm’s become. There is no one who can do what Shafir does. When Shafir is done with her, Storm’s own mother won’t even recognize her.

The Demand vs The Bang Bang Gang

Ace Austin and Ricochet start out as the legal men but after the Bald chants, Ricochet tags out to Bishop Kaun. Austin takes Ricochet off the apron with a dropkick, Kaun comes back with a shoulder block. Senton misses, crucifix from Austin gets a 2 count. Arm drag takedown, tijeras and a forearm in the corner. Kick to the back from Austin, mahistral cradle for 1, another dropkick as Kaun is reeling. Leg drop connects, and now Kaun fights back with some strikes. Austin tags in Austin Gunn, who delivers the jabs, Ricochet comes in for a distraction but gets jabbed too. Spinning flatliner connects! Liona in, misses a splash in the corner and Juice Robinson blind tags in. Liona wants him in, holding the ropes open for him. Juice tries to puff himself up against the bigger man. Haha Juice and Liona scream at each other, Juice dives but gets caught, only for Juice to low bridge Liona to the floor. Crossbody to the outside but the Demand are there to catch him. Ace Austin with a dive and they all go down!

Gunn and Austin hit a double team axe handle to Liona’s arm, and Juice hits one too, keeping the focus on that left arm. Liona slaps Juice off the apron and clears house. Ricochet with a tope suicida takes out Ace Austin and rolls him back in for Kaun to cover, just a 2 count. Slingshot sentons from both Ricochet and Kaun. They stomp Austin down in the corner, and Ricochet knocks Juice off the apron. Juice tries to come back in but the ref gets distracted by it, allowing the Demand to triple team Austin. Austin battles back from the apron, springboard dropkick to Liona. Tag to Juice! The Juice is loose! Back elbows connect, Manhattan drop and chops to Ricochet. Lariat from the corner! Leg lariat to Kaun, spinebuster to Ricochet! Tag out to Austin Gunn, double team arm drag connects. Kaun dropkicks Juice to the floor, and the Demand deliver double knees to Gunn in the corner. Liona perches Gunn on the ropes and tosses him in for the Final Rites. Splash from Ricochet, 1, 2, NO. Austin and Juice take it to Liona now but he won’t go down. Double superkicks! Ricochet with a springboard forearm, dropkicks from Kaun, Fameasser from Gunn! 1, 2, SPIRIT GUN FROM BEHIND! 1, 2, 3!

Winners: The Demand

Time: 14:34

Rating: ***1/4 – Beautiful finish there, Ricochet literally came out of nowhere. Good showing from the Demand especially here who continue to do some low-key really decent work in this spot.

*Things break down post-match as the Demand continue the assault. Ricochet grabs a mic and smacks Gunn with it. A HAAAA! He defends in the 21-man battle royale at the Zero Hour, and this company is doing everything it can to sabotage his title reign, but it doesn’t matter how many people are in the battle royale, or how loud these people boo. 21, 41, 101, the only one that matters is Ricochet. At Revolution, he doesn’t care if Tony likes it or not, he will walk in and walk out as the National champion because he’s Ricochet and he’s out of this world.

*Jack Perry says tomorrow night is not just a battle royale or a championship match. It’s an opportunity to realize a lifelong dream, to compete in the building he used to go to as a kid. Things have gone differently than he thought, he failed over and over again. He can’t fail this time. This isn’t just for him, it’s for his friends, his family, and that little boy who sat in the front row all those years ago. Perry will see Ricochet at Revolution.

*Toni Storm is lying down and says she sees the cracks in the circus. She’s been in the circus long enough to know how it works. Marina stomps and snarls but don’t forget who holds the whip. The lights fade, the music dies, and someone is left lying in the sawdust. Shafir will realize she is nothing but a performer.

‘Colossal’ Lena Kross (w/ Megan Bayne) vs Mina Shirakawa

Oh wow Kross is an entire head taller than Shirakawa. Kross tries to pick up Shirakawa, but Mina escapes. Gets caught again, and Kross dumps her with a fallaway slam. Cocky cover gets 2. Mina fights back with forearms, headscissors caught, but she low bridges the ropes and Kross spills to the floor. Mina goes up top, Kross moves away though. She gets Mina on her shoulders and drops her face first into the apron. Sliding dropkick connects, cover, 1, 2, no. Back elbow in the corner, pump kick! Release German connects, 1, 2, Mina kicks out and we head to commercial.

Back from the break, Shirakawa is perched on the ropes and delivers a crossbody to the outside! Dragon screw legwhip on the apron, tornillo back into the ring, and Shirakawa gets a 2 count from it. She looks for the Figure Four, Kross pushes her away. Crescent kick from Kross! They trade rights and forearms, big boot from Kross again. Glamorous Mina Driver is countered, uraken connects. Shirakawa up top, slingblade! 1, 2, no! Figure Four again countered, Kross nails a German suplex but Mina is back up. Runs right into a thrust kick, and Kross hits the Jackhammer to pick up the 1, 2, 3.

Winner: Lena Kross

Time:

Rating: ***- One day poor Mina will be allowed to win again! Today was not that day. This was about heating Kross up before her double title shot tomorrow, and while I don’t think it was terribly successful in that, she needed this TV time to ensure she’s seen as a credible threat. Kross has some good offense and her size difference to a lot of the roster stands her in good stead.

*We get a sneak peak of the video package for MJF vs Hangman that will air during the upcoming Countdown show.

*And now it’s main event time. LET’S GO!

Andrade El Idolo vs Mascara Dorada

Don Callis joins commentary for this occasion. Dorada extends the hand but Andrade kicks it away, NO BUENO! Quick rollup attempt from Dorada gets 1. Hurracanrana into a pin attempt, another 1 count! Andrade chops the heck out of him in response. Standing switches, Dorada moonsaults to dodge, and Andrade is tranquilo in the ropes. Beautiful tijeras from Dorada, goes to the apron and hops to the second rope, but Andrade rushes over and sweeps the legs, tremendous. Andrade heads over to a woman at ringside, who extends her hand, and he makes her twirl before taking a selfie with her. Callis tries to get $20 from her for it haha. Andrade with a big boot floors Dorada. Back in the ring, tilt-a-whirl backbreaker connects for a 2 count. He goes to the well once more but Dorada counters the tilt-a-whirl into a splash. Andrade sent to the floor, Dorada dives from the ring into a tijeras takeover!

Mascara up top, Andrade rolls to the apron, and Dorada dives anyway, DDT ON THE APRON! ASAI MOONSAULT but Andrade gets the boot up, camera caught that perfectly, boot RIGHT in the face! Fireman’s carry, Andrade drops Dorada throat and chest first into the barricade. And again on the announce table…where Don Callis gets involved, stomping away at Dorada. Back in the ring, both men trade forearms. Dorada gets popped up but counters with a shotgun dropkick in midair! Andrade with a lariat in the corner, Dorada springboards into a tijeras. Andrade catches Dorada off another springboard, reversed and he catches Andrade with a Code Red, 1, 2, no!

Dorada is thinking suplex, but no, Andrade delivers the Three Amigos,, cover, 1, 2, no. Andrade climbs the buckles, but Dorada is up, enziguri! Andrade gets him on his shoulders, Dorada counters with a top rope hurracanrana! 1, 2, NO. TORNILLO to the floor takes out Andrade! He goes back up top, 450 connects, 1, 2, NOOO! Andrade on his knees now, demanding Dorada hit him. Dorada gets down to his knees and they trade slaps. Up to their feet now, more slaps. Dorada springs to the middle rope, Andrade is right there with him though… SPANISH FLY! 1, 2, NO!

Running double knees in the corner, 1, 2, NO, Dorada kicks out. Andrade thinks it’s over now though as he signals for the DM. Dorada counters though for a 2 count, thrust kick connects. Crescent kick to the face. Dorada grabs Andrade, looks like a counter but NO, DESTROYER! Dorada up top, Andrade rolls to the apron, Dorada hooks him in for a suplex. Andrade headbutts out of it. HAMMERLOCK DDT on the top buckle! Damn! Andrade delivers the DM and that’s it, 1, 2, 3!!

Winner: Andrade El Idolo

Time: 18:49

Rating: ****1/4 – OH HELL YEAH. Both men on absolute top form here, and this makes me even more excited than I already was for Andrade/Bandido tomorrow. They packed a hell of a lot into this one, just all-out action and insanity from the get go. I loved every second of this.

*Bandido’s music hits post-match and here he comes to go face to face with Andrade. Ohhh but Trent & Romero attack him from behind! RPG Vice floor him, but here comes Brody King to even the score. BRODIDO LIVES! But here’s Swerve Strickland flying in out of nowhere, and we see King and Swerve coming to blows on the ramp. Bandido and Andrade go eye to eye, but RPG Vice are back up, stomping Bandido down as Andrade casually walks away. Bandido manages to catapult RPG Vice to the floor and he delivers a tope con hilo, ready to fight, but Andrade has already hopped over the rail into the crowd. Bandido poses and pulls the trigger, aimed at Andrade as we go off the air.

And that’s all folks! I’ll see you back here tomorrow for live coverage of AEW Revolution! Woooooo!
