Keep Refreshing For The Latest Results

SICKOS! It’s Wednesday, you know what that means! AEW Dynamite is live tonight from Nashville, Tennessee, and we will be getting the fallout from Full Gear. And, after a couple of title changes, a couple of changes, and what appears to be a group reunion (kind of), there is sure to be a lot of fallout.

Of course, all of this runs parallel to the company’s annual November-December event known as the Continental Classic, which starts tonight. And, in that spirit and, at the expense of not getting sidetracked when the company throws a thousand things at me to keep up with, I will disclose the groups here.

For the Blue League, we have:
-IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita
-Jon Moxley
-Claudio Castagnoli
-Orange Cassidy
-Roderick Strong
-Mascara Dorada

And for the Gold League, we have:
-AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada
-Darby Allin
-PAC
-Kevin Knight
-Mike Bailey
-Kyle Fletcher

Just as a reminder of the Continental Classic Rules:
-Wins earn a wrestler three points, a time-limit draw earns a wrestler a point, and a loss, DQ, or count-out are good for no points.
-Time limits for matches are twenty minutes. If there is no decision after twenty minutes, the match ends in a draw, and both competitors get a point.
-Every match within the confines of the tournament takes place with no seconds or interference in matches.

As for the twelve men involved, I can’t really argue with the selections. You have main event stalwarts, mid-card guys, tag team guys, and what has to be a surprise in the form of Dorada. Also, it has to be trolling on the part of whoever made this up to include two members of the Death Riders in the Blue League, while not only will Jet Speed collide in the Gold League, but you also have Okada and Fletcher going up against each other.

And, to that end, tonight’s card will feature three matches from the CC, with Okada and Fletcher, along with Knight and Allin from the Gold League, while Moxley will look to find himself a win against Dorada in the Blue League.

But let’s not get away from the ongoing Women’s Tag Team Title Tourney, as the Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale) will face the Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue) in a semifinals match. All of this and, I am sure, so much more in store for us tonight.

So, how is everyone on this Wednesday Evening? Nothing really has changed on the Ryan Front. Same old, same old lol. I just want to take the time to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

So, enough of the intro, let’s get ready to make the Dynamite go BOOM!

Tonight, we are LIVE from the Pinnacle in Nashville, Tennessee! The new power trivium of Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Nigel McGuinness will have the call for us tonight!

Oh snap, the Okada-Fletcher match is going to lead us off tonight! Nice!

We get a recap of the issues that manifested between the Don Callis Family members at Full Gear, leading to the announcement that Takeshita, Okada, AND Fletcher will be in the CC. Wicked!

Excalibur runs down the rules of the CC matches. That, I basically, put all in my longer than usual introduction.

And here we go!

Continental Classic Match – Gold League: Kyle Fletcher vs. AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada

Since he can’t be at ringside per the rules of the tourney, Don Callis will enthrall us with his commentary instead! Yay us!

The bell rings, as the fans chant HOLY SHIT and both guys look at each other from across the ring. Okada offers a handshake, Fletcher takes it, but both men try to sneak in a kick LOL! FUCK DON CALLIS chants as both men with headlock takeovers. Kicks are canceled yet again, and both men get into each other’s faces. They fist bump and run through some chain wrestling. Fletcher with wrist control, as he tries to grind the top of Okada’s head. Okada rolls him to the mat and into a side headlock.

Fletcher to his feet, he takes Okada to the ropes. He gives the clean break but steals a page from Okada’s book as he pats him on the chest lol. Both men lock-up, Okada takes Fletcher to the ropes and shows him how it’s really done lol. Big boot from Okada, but Fletcher with a running shoulder tackle. Fletcher takes in the response from the fans. He kicks Okada, picks him up and hits a scoop slam for a two. Fletcher with a chop to Okada. Okada backs up to the corner and takes another chop. He walks his way to another corner, but he ducks the next chop and kicks Fletcher.

Fletcher fires out of the corner with a double axe handle to the face of Okada. Cover for a two. Fletcher methodically stomps on the ankle and arm of Okada. He kicks Okada in the back and hits another scoop slam. Fletcher goes to the outside to take in the jeers as he climbs to the top rope. Okada shoves Rick Knox into the ropes to send Fletcher onto his tins lol. Okada dropkicks Fletcher out and to the floor as we see Okada plead with Knox lol! That’ll take us to commercial break.

Okada with his scoop slam as we return from break. Okada goes to the top to hit his falling elbow drop, but Fletcher shoves Knox into the ropes to drop Okada on his BITCH balls lol. Fletcher pleads with Knox before going up top. He hits a superplex, as both men crash to the mat, and they’ll feel that one!

Both men to their feet, Fletcher off the ropes with a big boot! He follows in with a forearm and a side suplex that net Kyle a two. Fletcher with some Kawada kicks, but his next move is countered, as Okada hits his patented over the back neckbreaker. Okada is going to go upstairs again, but again Fletcher cuts him off. Fletcher looking for another superplex, but Okada with a forearm, dropping Fletcher to the mat. Okada finally gets the elbow drop, and that means it’s time for the POSE!

Rainmaker is countered by Fletcher with a half-and-half suplex. Fletcher has Okada eyed up, but Okada escapes to the floor. Fletcher to the apron, thinking PK, but Okada grabs Kyle’s leg and trips him face first onto the apron. Okada with the draping DDT to the floor. Okada returns Fletcher to the ring and hits a suplex and gets a two count.

Okada taunts Fletcher with some loose kicks to the head. Fletcher to his feet, they engage in a forearm battle, which Okada wins, but he eats a thrust kick. Okada comes back with his own then hits a release German. Tombstone from Okada! Another Rainmaker is countered by Kyle as he hits a Michinoku Driver!

Justin Roberts tells us that five minutes are left, as both men fight from their knees with forearms. Back on their feet, and Okada with a backslide. He pops out of it and hits a huge lariat. Fletcher ducks another one, snatches up Okada, and throws him into the corner face first! Liger Bomb, but Okada kicks out at 2.8! Fletcher has Okada eyed up, big kick to the back of the head. Brain buster is countered, Fletcher almost runs into Knox, Okada almost runs into Knox lol. Okada to the eyes of Fletcher! Looking for the Rainmaker, but Okada rolls up Fletcher for the flash pin!
WINNER: Kyle Fletcher (1-0-0-3 points)
TIME: 16:47
THOUGHTS: Methodical, calculating, and hilarious in spots. A really good match between two really good wrestlers.
RATING: ***3/4

Post-match, Don Callis enters the ring, as he embraces Fletcher and consoles Okada. Fletcher offers a handshake, Okada accepts, and Callis raises both men’s arms in the air.

Back to Full Gear we go, to the events of the 6-man million-dollar match. The Elite are back, perhaps.

Lexi Nair knocks on the door of Kenny Omega. Kenny pops out, Lexi wants a moment of his time and asks if the Elite are reunited. Kenny says it is complicated. He has not been a model employee, and he has been fooled before. He has to think really long and hard about where he stands with the Bucks. If his friends will accept him with all of his faults, and if the fans accept him with all of his faults, then the Bucks deserve a second chance.

The door reopens and the Young Bucks appear! They walk away as Lexi keeps saying hey.

The women’s tag team tourney continues next!

COMMERCIALS!

Back to Full Gear we go, as we see the highlights of the TNT Title match between Kyle Fletcher and Mark Briscoe. Post-match, cameras caught up to Briscoe. Sometimes, there are no words. He lost the most important thing to him. Talking about family man, I lost my brother, and the other half of me. It’s been a long road since then. I didn’t know if I wanted to carry on without him. I wanted to make him proud. it was defeat after defeat, loss after loss, disappointment after disappointment. But there is a time and the season for everything. When family is on the line, my boys, the Conglomeration, that changes everything. he has his road family, and his home family, and this is for both of them. His nieces, his dad, his wife, his kids, his sisters, Sussex County, this for you, this is for you too, brother, we did it.

STOP CUTTING DAMN ONIONS!!!!

It’s time to commit some sin! 😉

AEW Women’s Tag Team Tourney Semifinals match: The Sisters of Sin (Skyle Blue and Julia Hart) vs. The Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale)

Cameron and Hart come to center as the fans chant WOMEN’S WRESTLING. Hart opens with a kick to the gut, but Cameron takes Julia down with a headlock. Quick tag to Willow, who hits Hart with an elbow strike. Double back suplex from the BOW and a booty bump lol. Not content, Willow with an assisted Senton to Harley lol. The pin, two count on Skye. Skye escapes Cameron’s grasp and hits a rising knee strike. Roundhouse kick from Harley, tho, and a Russian Leg Sweep follows.

Cameron goes to the top, but Skye kicks out the feet of Cameron. She traps the head of Cameron and kicks it. Hart to the top, looking for the moonsault, but she switches it up and hits an elbow drop for a two. They dispose of Willow and try to double team Harley. She kicks them away for a second, but Willow is back with the blind tag. Lariat to Skye, Doctor Bomb to Julia, and the Babes are moving to the finals!
WINNER: Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron

THOUGHTS: A strong tag team match. Obviously, Julia and Skye have a long run of chemistry, but Harley and Willow have been so much fun and are a viable threat to win it all!
RATING: ***1/2

We’ll hear from the new AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe, and the Opps, next!

COMMERICALS!

Schiavone is in the middle of the ring. I’m not sure this will end well. Remember what happened the last time? Tony better run like someone half his age and with Sonic speed lol.

The Opps (sans HOOK) come out with their titles. Joe is a two-title holder in AEW, by the way, and that’s definitely a good thing, since the man is a legend.

Joe takes the mic before Tony can say a word. He says tonight is a celebration, and he tells Tony to take his hillbilly ass out of here. Tony obliges lol.

We see a Chevy Tahoe arrive outside. Swerve Strickland emerges, as Prince Nana hands him a staple gun. Hangman Page is seen off screen, as he walks along side Strickland.

Like Joe was saying, tonight is a celebration. He tells Shibata to go get the scrubs, so Joe’s Dojo guys are here. Sun Tsu stands in front of you. Everything worked their way at Full Gear, from Shibata taking care of Kingston to Hobbs and his dominant strength, to Joe taking care of Hangman and winning the world title. He knows the simpletons here won’t understand his words, so he’ll show them how we got to this point.

We revisit the riveting HOOK promo on the rooftop by the fireplace, leading to him coming out and attacking Hangman at Full Gear.

Joe says incredible, that was some of his best work! Finally, you have a champion that you can call the best in the industry! Joe wants to introduce the lynchpin of this operation, HOOK!

HOOK arrives and NGL, being a heel might be the best thing that could have happened to him. I do wonder where this leaves his team with Kingston, though.

HOOK says Joe, you were right, these rednecks are too STUPID to know that they are looking at the greatest second-generation wrestler that this business has ever seen. So, do me a favor.

WHOSE HOUSE? Nah, I don’t think that was the favor, though, LOL!

We see Swerve in the back of the arena, making the rounds. Hangman’s theme hits, as we see him at the bar. Fitting lol.

Members of the Opps Dojo go after Hangman and Swerve, but that goes about as well as you would expect. More members of the Dojo enter the ring to protect the Opps, but the Opps run like cowards, as Swerve staples anyone wearing an Opps Dojo shirt lol. Hangman with his chain, Swerve with the staple gun, as they lay out all the Dojo members. Hangman and Swerve use their chains to choke out two members of the Dojo, as they stare intently as The Opps. They are still too cowardly to save their lackies, as the refs run down to the ring instead.

Gold League action next between Moxley and Dorada, but Moxley had words after his match. He is glad that the camera man is here, because he wants to know who won the war at Full Gear. These people don’t know what the life is about, because they never lived the life. Kyle O’Reilly is a great wrestler, but he’s in a hospital now. They celebrate their careers into an early grave. The playoffs are about to start, as Jon walks away, and NGL, the rest of the group doesn’t look thrilled with Moxley, especially Claudio and PAC.

Continental Classic Match – Blue League: Jon Moxley vs. Mascara Dorada

The bell rings, as Moxley slowly removes his jacket to YOU TAPPED OUT chants. Early test of strength, Moxley drops Dorada to the mat, but Dorada escapes and grabs the foot of Moxley. Jon kicks him away, and we reset. Moxley grabs arm control of Dorada and looks for an arm bar on the mat. Dorada does a headstand to escape.

LUCHA chants, as Moxley fakes a test of strength, but kicks Dorada in the gut. He stomps on Dorada, as Aubrey admonishes him. Dorada to his feet, he snaps off a Rana, sending Moxley to the floor. Dorada does a roll, he pulls up, but his crossbody misses. Moxley in the ring, he takes off with a tope that just about damn near killed both of these guys. This is why Moxley does hardcore and not flying lol.

Moxley returns Dorada to the ring, so he shows his gratitude with a corner dropkick. Moxley and Dorada end up on the ramp. They go to throw each other off the ramp, but it’s Moxley who hits the floor. Dorada charges off the ramp, but he jumps into a forearm from Moxley. Jon returns him to the ring and covers him for a two. He tries another pin for another two. Moxley with a front face suplex to Dorada as he dances around the ring as we hit the break.

Moxley is looking for a piledriver as we return from break. Dorada off the ring steps, as he shoves Moxley into the steps instead. Dorada with a Rana from the apron. He leads Moxley over the barricade, as Moxley acts like he got jabbed in the throat lol.

Back in the ring, Dorada with the kick combination into a Code Red for a two. Dorada to the top, but Moxley rolls out onto the floor. It’s of little use, however, as Dorada hits the Tornio AND lands on his feet! Dorada returns Moxley to the ring, but he catches an approaching Dorada with a CUTTER! Moxley mounts Dorada with punches in the corner. Moxley takes too long starring into the crowd, as Dorada sneaks out and has Moxley in an Electric Chair. He hits a neck breaker and applies the cross arm-breaker. Moxley fights his way out of it and punches Dorada in the head. Running knee strike from Moxley.

Moxley looking Paradigm Shift, but Dorada rolls up Jon for a two. Thrust kick from Dorada puts Moxley on the mat. Dorada to the top rope, 450 Splash! The cover, Moxley kicks out at 2.5! Moxley psyches himself up, only to eat an enziguri. Dorada to the top again, but he meets the knees of Moxley. Jon with a variation of the bulldog choke. Dorada fights for a little bit, but eventually he passes out.
WINNER: Jon Moxley (1-0-0-3 points)
TIME: 12:55
THOUGHTS: Paint by the numbers match, with the story being Jon’s strength against Dorada and his speed. Sometimes, the predictable choice is not the worst one, and let’s be real here, Jon needs wins in the worst possible way.
RATING: ***1/4

Post-match, Marina Shafir arrives to chastise Dorada and check on Jon. Toni Storm is here! Jonny, Jonny, Jonny! You are not dreaming! Your eyes do not deceive you! This is Toni Storm live and in living color. And, judging from your actions the past few weeks, the most resilient, tough, and bitchy person in the ring. Despite your cargo pants, I really like you, Jonny. But you operate from a place of hate and fear, she operates from a place of love, and you could never understand. Toni would love to chat all night, but she has a message for Jon’s cape wearing daughter. Toni and her lover have decided on the stipulation for that match. It has to be good enough for these Sickos! She has been awake for four days thinking about what she wanted to do. She rolled over this morning and looked at her sweet Mina! She just realized that she hasn’t gotten her anything for Christmas! They are going to have the heads of two slot tarts on a silver platter! Next Wednesday, no holds barred, no tags, it will be a Holiday Seasons Death Match!

Well, that was incredible.

Speaking of incredible, we have the Remarkable Renee Paquette and Kris Statlander in the back. Renee notes that Kris is only the second woman to pin Mercedes Mone in AEW. What is next? Kris ponders what is next. She says the looks on people’s face seem to be of disbelief. You have one of three options, you can turn to the past, you can stay in the present, or you can look to the future. She turned Renee’s head each time by the way, making it funnier. Kris knows what she direction she is going, so how is coming with her?

COMMERCIALS!

Darby Fell…For You!

Continental Classic match – Gold League: Darby Allin vs. Kevin Knight

Low-key, this one could bang. The bell rings. as Knight slides around the ring in pursuit of Allin. Lock-up, Knight takes Allin to the corner and gives a clean break. He switches to a headlock, but Knight to his feet, so Darby runs the top rope and hits an arm drag. He grounds Knight again, but Knight reverses with a leg lock. Knight ducks a lariat, high boot from Knight, and his monkey flip causes Allin to catch his leg on the ropes.

Knight returns Knight to the ring, but he catches Kevin with a snap over the top rope. Tope Suicida from Allin follows. Darby heads to the apron and to the very top. He possibly was looking for a Coffin Drop, but Knight sneaks up behind him and hits a back suplex from the top! On that note, we head off to break.

Knight and Allin struggle for control as we return from break. Allin flips Knight off the top rope, but Knight flies back in and hits a Rana, which propels Allin out of the ring. Knight heads to the outside, as they battle on the ramp. Allin trips up Knight, and Allin hits a missile dropkick from the ramp, sending Knight crashing into the barricade. Allin returns Knight to the ring, and he rolls Knight into the Last Supper for a two. Allin with some chops, Knight follows Allin, leapfrog, Knight avoids the Scorpion Death Drop, and both men end up smashing into each other.

THIS IS AWESOME chant, as Allin backs is on the ramp. Knight with the springboard into the Pendulum DDT! Knight returns to the ring, looking for the count out win. Paul Turner counts, but Knight sees Allin get to his feet, so Knight takes off and hits a flying lariat, clearing the top rope with ease! Knight returns Allin to the ring, his UFO Splash misses. Allin with the Destroyer for a two.

Allin goes to the top rope, but Knight trips up Allin, leading to him being stuck in the Tree of WHOA! Knight to the top rope in the opposite corner. COAST TO COAST DROPKICK! Knight to the top again, UFO Splash! Knight defeats Allin clean like a sheet!
WINNER: Kevin Knight (1-0-0-3 points)
TIME: 11:55
THOUGHTS: This has to be the biggest win in the career of Kevin Knight. No matter how badly hurt Darby might be from the Full Gear clash with PAC, this is still a huge win for Knight. As good as I thought it would be, honestly.
RATING: ****1/4

Post-match, Knight wants to shake the hand of Darby. Allin sits up long enough to shake his hand, and then he proceeds to go back to his nap lol.

It’s history time with FTR, as we see all three of their tag team title wins. We will hear from the new/old Tag Team Champions tomorrow night on Thanksgiving Collison!

The main event is up next!

COMMERCIALS!

Eddie Kingston is here post-break. He says people want to know about everything that is going on. He doesn’t want to talk about HOOK. He heard Joe mention his name. That’s cool, Dog. He isn’t in line for a title shot, but beating his homeboy Shibata on Collision will get him that. He’ll get some turkey and some pumpkin pie from his mom first. Come on, Shibata, fight me on Collision.

And that match is official!

Epic theme song for an epic entrance for an epic strong man.

Continental Classic Match – Blue League: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Orange Cassidy

The bell rings, and Claudio tries to ambush Cassidy with an uppercut, but he gets rolled up for a two. Cassidy tries another roll-up, but Claudio shoves him away. Sunset Flip attempt, but Claudio grabs Cassidy off the mat and hits the uppercut after all of that.

Claudio has Cassidy on his shoulders, as he throws him face first into the corner. Running back elbow from Claudio, looking for the Gotch Style Piledriver, but Cassidy evades it. He catches the leg of Claudio and gives him the deadliest kicks of all-time. Cassidy with a dropkick that sends Claudio to the floor.

Cassidy with a Tope to Claudio, but he no-sells it and throws Cassidy into the ring apron. Claudio chucks Cassidy into the barricade, but he takes WAY too long to follow up, as Cassidy shoves Claudio into the barricade. Cassidy tries to catch Claudio with a DDT, but Claudio turns that into a Giant Swing into the timekeepers table as we head to break.

Claudio and Cassidy are dancing in the middle of the ring as we return from break. Nevermind, it was a rag doll says Excalibur lol. Claudio picks up Cassidy by the waistband for a gut buster. He goes it again. He does it a third time, except from the front this time. Claudio gets WAY too greedy and does it a fourth time, but Cassidy catches him with the DDT this time. Kip-up and hands in the pocket from Cassidy, as he hits the dropkick to Claudio. Cassidy looking Beach Break, but Cassidy can’t hit it, so he sends Cassidy out of the ring and hits a successful Tope this time.

Cassidy jumps back into the ring. He is caught buy Claudio, but Cassidy counters with the Stun Dog Millionaire. Cassidy to the top, but he jumps right into a waiting uppercut from Claudio. The cover, two count. Claudio with the hammer and elbows. Giant Swing from Claudio. He peels off the elbow pad, but he runs into a standing Orange Punch! Cassidy is popped up by Claudio, but Cassidy finagles his way into a DDT. Claudio pops up Cassidy again, but he eats an Orange Punch! The cover, two count.

(Why are people chanting FIGHT FOREVER when we know there is a 20-minute time limit lol?)

Cassidy to the corner, he loads up the Orange, but he misses the punch, and Claudio with a lariat. Claudio’s pop-up is reversed into a Rana. Cassidy runs in, but Claudio nails the Uppercut for real this time! High stack, and Claudio is on the board!
WINNER: Claudio Castagnoli (1-0-0-3 points)
TIME: 12:25
THOUGHTS: I feel like if you have seen one of these guy’s matches, you have seen them all. Nothing really changed from anything that they have done before, with all the counters, the punches, the pop-ups, and the constant struggles. I’m not saying it’s bad, rather, quite formulaic, though.
RATING: ***1/2

Post-match, the Death Riders enter the ring as Renee is in the middle of the ring. She says tomorrow night, PAC will take on Mike Bailey. She wants to ask Claudio what it means to have partaken in every C2 so far, but stupidly, Cassidy gets up and shoves Wheeler Yuta. As such, he gets ambushed by the Death Riders. This turns into a cluster, basically with everyone who is involved in the C2, and it ends with Cassidy hitting the Orange Punch on Yuta after the ring has been cleared. Everyone is separated and head their own way as the show comes to a close.

And with that, we are done!
