Kiana James & Giulia Win #1 Contenders Match For Women’s Tag Team Titles On WWE Smackdown

Kiana James and Giulia are the new #1 contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions by virtue of a triple threat victory on this week’s WWE Smackdown. James and Giulia defeated the teams of Alexis Bliss and Charlotte Flair & Nia Jax & Lash Legend on Friday’s show. By doing so, they earned a shot at Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY, who are the current Women’s Tag Team Champions.

The match went about 11 minutes and saw Giulia prevent Legend from getting a pinfall on Bliss toward the end of the match. Jax hit Giulia with a pop up headbutt, but James tagged into the match to hit the 401K on Jax. Legend knocked James down and hit a tornado DDT on Bliss along with the Lash Extension. However, Flair speared Legend and James took advantage by pinning Bliss for the victory.

Ripley and SKY will be defending the titles against Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez at Saturday night’s main event. James and Giulia will challenge the winners for the titles. No word on exactly when that match will take place. You can see highlights from tonight’s match below.

Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place tomorrow night and airs live on Peacock from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. 411 will have live coverage of the show.
