We reported last night that Kofi Kingston was replaced by Kevin Owens at WWE Fastlane in the WWE title match against Daniel Bryan. Both the WrestleVotes Twitter account and Wrestling Observer Radio‘s Dave Meltzer (via Ringside News) seem to believe that there should be no cause for alarm for Kofi fans. According to Meltzer, the change likely means that Kingston is getting a title shot at Wrestlemania instead. He also hinted that Kofi might actually go over in the match.

He said: “It appears that they flip-flopped Kevin Owens and Kofi Kingston. Because it was very clear that they’re going to do Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston and if they’re not gonna do it at Fastlane and Kevin Owens is getting the shot at Fastlane then that probably means that Kofi Kingston is getting the shot at Mania. So that’s changed again in the last week because Kevin Owens was the one getting the shot at Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania in the original plans. So maybe they didn’t wanna beat Kofi Kingston and because of the way the plans were if Daniel Bryan fought Kofi Kingston they would have to beat Kofi Kingston so maybe they wanna put Kofi Kingston over?

WrestleVotes seems to at least partially confirm that Kofi isn’t done with the WWE title picture, as they told his fans not to worry.

Meltzer, meanwhile, also suggested that WWE could turn the Fastlane title match into a triple threat with Owens and Kingston both challenging Bryan.
