Logan Paul Responds to Backlash Over Bad Bunny Super Bowl Remarks

Logan Paul has moved quickly to clarify comments that sparked an online debate following a red-carpet appearance. The WWE star addressed the backlash around his remarks on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance, stressing there was no hidden agenda or shot taken at the global superstar.

When asked if he was excited to see Bunny perform at Levi’s Stadium, Paul simply said “no” and walked away. However, later, he called out his brother Jake for calling the performer a “fake American citizen.”

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Paul explained that his earlier comment came from habit, not hostility. He noted he rarely focuses on halftime shows, even during major events like the Super Bowl. Red carpet duties often keep him networking, talking business, and moving between conversations. In that moment, he was speaking casually, not issuing challenges or critiques.

Logan Paul explained, “On the red carpet, when I was asked, ‘Are you excited for the halftime show?’ I can’t remember the last halftime show I’ve been excited for. I don’t even know if I’m paying attention for most of the game.” He continued, “Like, I’m working, I’m mingling and stuff. And yeah, maybe part of it is knowing what could happen in the WWE, but also part of it is just like, I’m walking down a red carpet.”

Some fans quickly interpreted the quote as Paul positioning himself for a WWE crossover match with Bad Bunny. That speculation spread fast across social media. Paul shut that down directly, saying he was not “setting the table” for a dream match or trying to bait anyone into a feud.

Speaking on a possible matchup against Bad Bunny in WWE, Paul said, “I’m not setting the table. I don’t know. Look, the thing about him is he’s a busy guy. He’s a very busy guy. I don’t know.” He added, “I don’t know what is on his agenda. I would like to, I would. I would like to make it happen.”

Still, he didn’t close the door entirely. From a WWE standpoint, the exchange keeps talk of celebrity crossover alive without creating conflict.
