Mike Santana was able to put away Steve Maclin in a proper match this time, defeating his rival to retain ther TNA World Title on TNA Impact. Santana put his title on the line against Maclin on Thursday’s show in a rematch of their battle at TNA Sacrifice, which had been cut short after Maclin was unable to continue shortly into the fight.

Santana and Maclin went a little over 17 and a half minutes this time, as they battled back and forth. Maclin came close to winning the match and title on a number of occasions, but the champion was able to kick out each time. Santana ultimately hit a giant flying clothesline followed by Spin the Block in order to pin Maclin and retain his championship.

The match between the two at Sacrifice in late March was stopped after the challenger was caught with a kick that knocked him loopy. Maclin had issues with getting to his feet and the match was ruled a no contest, with Eddie Edwards coming down to attack Santana and getting put through a table to send the crowd home happy.
