Mike Santana is still TNA World Champion, retaining his title against Eric Young on TNA Impact with an assist from Ricky Sosa. Thursday night’s show saw Santana put his title on the line against Eric Young. The match kicked off the show and saw Young present a serious challenge to Santana, as the two battled back and forth for 12 and a half minutes.

The finish of the match saw the ref take a bump, and Young delivered a low blow to the champion before retrieving the World Championship belt and smahing Santana with it. Young hit the piledriver and the ref was able to count the fall, but Santana got his hand under the bottom rope.

Young went for another title belt shot before Sosa showed up and distracted Young from the ramp. Santana was then able to get the Victory Roll for the pinfall. You can see clips from the match below.

After the match, Nic Nemeth came out and teased cashing in his TNA World Title shot, but he instead helped Santana up and said he would challenge Santana at TNA Slammiversary.

Sosa was last in TNA TV back in April where he was taken out by a piledriver from Young. Santana’s World Title reign stands at 148 days, having won it from Frankie Kazarian on the January 15th TNA Impact premiere on AMC.
