– Kota Ibushi is back on the scene in AEW, and he’s set to wrestle on AEW TV for the first time since November 2023 tomorrow night against Trent Beretta. Fightful Select has more details on Ibushi’s return last Saturday at AEW Collision.

Ibushi’s match with Beretta will be the first time the two ever wrestled each other in a singles contest. AEW sources informed Fightful that Beretta is seen as an appropriate matchup for Ibushi’s return bout, due to his familiarity with the American TV style of wrestling and the Japanese style that Ibushi is more familiar with.

Beretta also recently returned from a lengthy injury layoff as well last month. This is also Beretta’s first singles match since returning to the ring. His last one was his loss against Orange Cassidy at AEW Double Or Nothing 2024.

Additionally, Fightful reports that Kota Ibushi is in a much better place physically than he has been in a long time. The 43-year-old wrestler has been recovering from a litany of injuries for a while, only wrestling sparingly over the last year.

Ibushi vs. Beretta goes down tomorrow (June 25) on AEW Dynamite. The show is being held at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington. Dynamite airs live on TBS starting at 8:00 pm EST and will be simulcast on Max.
