As previously reported, Eric Young came to terms with TNA Wrestling regarding his release. Fightful Select has more details on the former TNA World Champion leaving the promotion.

According to the update, Eric Young voluntarily asked for his release from his TNA deal. It’s said that the 46-year-old wrestler had been working in TNA without a contract for a long while, but he had signed a short-term deal fairly recently. The short-term contracts have recently become the norm for the promotion.

In terms of what might be next for Young, he reportedly has a good relationship with WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, and WWE sources have long said that the door is open for Young to return to WWE. Additionally, it’s said that Triple H didn’t want Young to leave in 2023, but after Young found out about McMahon returning to the WWE earlier in the year, he opted to ask for his release.

Also, Fightful Select reports that WWE sources expected Young to rejoin the company, but in what role is unclear. Young previously re-signed with WWE in November 2022, but he never appeared on TV once before requesting his release. It’s also noted that he signed an NDA upon receiving his release.
