More Backstage Details On The Rascalz Signing With AEW

A new report has some additional details and context on The Rascalz exiting TNA and signing with AEW earlier this week. As noted, the foursome signed with AEW and their impending arrival was teased on Dynamite with a graphic and their theme song.

The foursome — Myron Reed, Dezmond Xavier, Trey Miguel, and Zachary Wentz — were previously at TNA although Reed and Xavier were not under contract to the company. Fightful Select posted a new report noting a small clarification that while all four are signed to AEW, not all four of them were backstage at this week’s Dynamite. The original report stated that “The Rascalz are backstage at AEW” and then said all four were signed, leading to a touch of confusion about how many of the group were backstage at the show.

The new report also notes that Reed was open to remaining with TNA. However, sources note that when AEW’s offer was sent to them, it was stated that they specifically wanted Reed with the group.

Reed was originally set to compete for the X-Division Championship against Leon Slater at TNA Impact’s AMC premiere on Thursday night. The match was removed but it was noted earlier this week that Reed was willing to complete that date. The match was said to be removed because WWE had interest in using Slater on the European tour, along with the fact that TNA had some issues with getting visa finalized for some talent from the UK and Canada.
