It was previously reported that ticket sales for WWE Stomping Grounds, which happened last night, were ‘unusually low’ with WWE offering special deals to try to get the event to sell better. It seems that their efforts didn’t pay off as well as they may have hoped, as the attendance was reportedly low for the PPV. WWE did not announce an official attendance for the Tacoma Dome show, but there was still a “decent line” for walk-up tickets before it happened, according to Wrestling Inc. Meanwhile, free tickets were also given out yesterday.

In the arena, half of the seats were curtained off to hide the fact that they were empty. On Twitter, DEFY Wrestling’s Matt Farmer said there were around 6,000 fans in attendance. In the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer also heard it was 6,000, but said it was closer to 4,000 to 4,500 that paid. Bryan Alvarez added that tickets were given away at the mall earlier in the day. Farmer noted that there were “tons” of compted tickets and a lot of 2-for-1 deals were sold. The Tacoma Dome can hold 18,000 fans after production.

DEFY Wrestling’s Matt Farmer noted on Twitter that there were around 6,000 fans in attendance, which would be one of the smallest WWE pay-per-view crowds in a long time. Farmer also noted that there were “tons” of comped tickets, and a lot of 2 for 1 ticket deals were sold.

Nevertheless, the reaction online was that the crowd was “hot” for the PPV and into what they were watching. So the ones that attended seemed to like it. You can see photos of the crowd and curtained off areas below.
