Note on Intercontinental Title Ladder Match at WrestleMania 42

As previously reported, WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta will defend his title in a Ladder Match against multiple contenders at WrestleMania 42 this month. Je’Von Evans, Rusev, JD McDonagh, and Dragon Lee all won qualifying matches to earn slots in the matchup last week on WWE Main Event to make it a five-way dance.

Fightful Select reports that plans for the Ladder Match were finalized in the last week. Also, it’s said that a number of the participants found out very last-minute ahead of Monday Night Raw, where the qualifying matches were taped. On Main Event, Evans beat Rayo Americano. Rusev defeated Otis. JD McDonagh beat Akira Tozawa, and Dragon Lee beat Grayson Waller.

Regardless, Penta faces the biggest challenge of his WWE career with his title on the line at WrestleMania 42 in a Five-Way Ladder Match. The premium live event takes place April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. It will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
