Oba Femi showed up on this week’s episode of WWE Smackdown to confront Cody Rhodes ahead of their match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Friday’s episode saw the NXT Champion come to the ring to interrupt Rhodes’ promo, where the Undisputed WWE Champion was running down Drew McIntyre.
Rhodes spoke about how McIntyre was claiming WWE was an “unsafe working environment” and that while he can’t fire McIntyre, he will have to settle for kicking his ass. Femi then came down to the ring and said he loves Rhodes’ passion, but that he’s worried about the wrong man. He introduced himself to Rhodes and said the future was right here. He said that his time is now.
Rhodes reminded Femi that he’s the guy who took the title from Cena. Rhodes went to leave and Femi bumped him before they raised their titles in the air to each other. You can see a clip of the segment below.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place on December 13 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The event airs live on Peacock in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally. 411 will have live coverage of the show.
