Private Party Want a Fresh Restart of AEW’s Tag Team Division
– During a recent interview with The Charlotte Observer, AEW Tag Team Champion Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) discussed winning the tag titles and the division. Below are some highlights:
Isiah Kassidy on wanting a restart for the division: “We’re the leaders of the tag division and I want to do a fresh restart. (AEW) had the throne for the best tag-team division (in the industry), but I think it’s been forgotten about.”
Marq Quen on facing Lio Rush and Action Andretti: “We’re usually the smaller guys. Compared to Action and Lio, we’re the bigger guys. I usually like working with a bigger opponent. With this one, maybe it’s us that slows them down. We might have to change it up.”
Quen on how they beat three teams in a Fatal 4-Way match at Full Gear: “I feel like that should count as three title defenses. It’s hard to keep up with who’s legal and what’s happening when you’re off checking on your partner. You also have to have trust not just in your own partner, but in the other teams. If another team doesn’t kick out, you’ve lost your title.”
Quen on Rush and Andretti beating Top Flight: “They actually beat Top Flight, which makes them credible.”
AEW has not yet announced when Private Party will defend their tag team titles against Action Andretti and Lio Rush. Andretti and Rush defeated Top Flight earlier this month on AEW Collision to earn a future title shot against Private Party.
