As previously reported, last night’s WWE Raw closed out with Jacob Fatu laying out World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns during their contract signing for WWE Backlash 2026. After the show went off the air, Reigns got on the microphone and delivered a message, promising that Backlash “will not look like this.”
Roman Reigns told the fans at WWE Raw, “Don’t let tonight fool you, Saturday at Backlash will not look like this, I promise you.” He continued, “I’ve busted my ass for too long! I’ve held my ground in this company for too long, and I ain’t letting it go just yet, no!”
The Tribal Chief continued, “And Tampa, that’s why we have to hold it down, but here in Omaha, this is where we realize what has to happen! At Backlash, I’m whooping Jacob’s ass! At Backlash, it’s and still! At Backlash, you’re looking at this Head of The Table and the Tribal Chief above all!”
Roman Reigns faces off against Jacob Fatu for the World Heavyweight Title at WWE Backlash 2026. The event takes place on Saturday, May 9. It will be held at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida, airing live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
