Women’s Royal Rumble Match Went Through Changes Due to Spot Timing Issues

The Wrestling Observer (via Sportskeeda) reports that WWE had to make some changes for the women’s Royal Rumble match at last Sunday’s event due to some timing issues. Per the report, since some of the Superstars didn’t make their spots in time, so some of the spots had to be dragged out in accordance with the size of the entrance way.
This would apparently explain why some of the entrances for the women’s Rumble match took longer than the ones for the men. The women’s Royal Rumble match did end up going about 72 minutes. Meanwhile, the men’s Royal Rumble match went just over 57 minutes. So, this could be one explanation for why the women’s match ended up going so much longer this year.
The 2019 Royal Rumble event was held on Sunday, January 27 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. The event was broadcast live on the WWE Network. You can check out 411’s results from the event RIGHT HERE.
