Sean Waltman Recalls Going to Police Station Over DX Invasion Of WCW

D-Generation X famously “invaded” WCW Nitro during the Attitude Era, and Sean Waltman recently recalled the group having to go to the police station over it. The famous segment saw DX show up outside at Nitro with a tank to “invade” and unsuccessfully try to enter the arena via the loading dock. Waltman recounted on Insight With Chris Van Vliet how the group got arrested and had to go to the police station over the matter.

“It was a rush doing that. We knew we were doing something that you know, I mean [it was] uncharted waters,” Waltman said. When asked if he thought they’d get arrested, he said, “We did. We didn’t get like handcuffed and taken… I mean, we had to go to the station, but they let us stay in our van.”

He continued, “Yeah, because when we went to their offices. Not the CNN tower, but the WCW offices, Vince had already paid off the local police and they were with us. But then they called the police, and I don’t know if it was the sheriff vs. the police department or how that worked out. But we ended up having to go down and technically get booked, yeah.”
