Silas Young Says His Match With Kenny King Will Pull Out All the Stops at Supercard of Honor
– Silas Young spoke with WrestleZone Radio discussing his Last Man Standing match with Kenny King at ROH Supercard of Honor this weekend. Highlights are below:
On whether Bully Ray made the right decision booking the Last Man Standing Match for Supercard of Honor: “I think Bully Ray tends to be a little bit of a biased person but he did the right thing. I kind of got screwed. I don’t like to use that term, so to speak, but I had Kenny beat. Kenny likes to run his mouth and now it’s put up or shut up time. Bully Ray, this time, made the right decision and he made it a Last Man Standing Match. This is my match. I am 2-0 and Kenny King may have bitten off more than he can chew.”
On if he’s worried that Austin Aries could get involved in the match: “I don’t care who comes around. When you are the ROH Television Champion you have to be ready for all comers and give people the chance to challenge for the title. When I am the champion I will be accepting all challengers… given they earn their opportunities. I would absolutely love to wrestle Austin Aries in an ROH ring. Like I said, I’ll take on all challengers.”
On being in a high-profile match on the show: “It is going to be the biggest ROH show of all time. I saw the other day that it’s sold out or close to sold out. I have been wrestling for 16 years now, to get this opportunity with Ring of Honor the last few years and watch it grow and grow and grow has really made me appreciate the things that I get. It’s definitely going to be one of those matches where we pull out all the stops.”
On what instructions he’s given The Beer City Bruiser going into the match: “A smart man doesn’t always divulge all of his plans. That’s something that everyone is just going to have to wait and find out.”
On the tension within the Bullet Club as of late: “I think it’s pretty cool. It’s something that has fans talking. It’s something that has people talking in general. New Japan has always done a really good job with the way they book things and I think this proves it. This is a story that has been building for, what? A year or more? I think it’s pretty awesome for the wrestling fans and pretty awesome ROH is getting the match first.”
