A new report has a bit of an update on the lawsuit filed against WWE, Vince McMahon and more by former writer Britney Abrahams. As previously reported, Abrahams filed a lawsuit against WWE and Vince McMahon over what she feels were racist scripts and alleged that McMahon and other executives discriminate and retaliated against her after she spoke out against “offensively racist and stereotypical jargon.”
PWInsider reports that no lawsuit summons have yet been issued to any of the defendants. According to court records for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, if there are multiple defendants than a rider most be attached with the “names and and addresses of all defendants included.” The filing had not been updated as of May 2nd.
The list of defendants includes WWE, Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Christine Lubrano (SVP, Creative Writing Operations at WWE), former WWE Creative Team member Chris Dunn, Ryan Callahan, creative team member Jen Pepperman, and former creative team member Mike Heller. The report also notes that some in the company were initially confused by the news of the lawsuit because Abrahams was using the professional name of Onyx Espri and those people didn’t know who Britney Abrahams was.
