Tiffany Stratton is the new #1 contender to the WWE Women’s United States Championship, earning the title shot on WWE Smackdown. Friday night’s episode, the go-home show for WrestleMania 42, featured a #1 contenders match between Tiffany Stratton and Jordynne Grace. Stratton picked up the win and will now face Giulia for the title at a future date.
Giulia was originally set to defend the title against Stratton on tonight’s show, but the match was pulled on Friday afternoon in favor of the #1 contenders match. Stratton picked up the win in nine minutes, avoiding a Vertebreaker before hitting a handspring Stunner followed by the Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the pinfall.
Giulia and Kiana James sat ringside to observe the match. Stratton stared off with the champion after her win; you can see a clip from the WWE Smackdown match below.
No word as of yet on when the title match will take place. Stratton is a former WWE Women’s Champion, while Giulia is a two-time Women’s United States Champion.
