TNA News: Jim Cornette Update, Video Game Woes and More
– In what is seen as bad news regarding the TNA Video Game, they have already dropped the price. This is a move that usually happens 6-months after the initial release. It is felt that the only reason this would be done so quickly is that it is a panic move, which would indicate that sales are even lower than originally anticipated.
– Jim Cornette was at the last TV tapings but never on camera, he was working as an agent backstage. Everyone backstage was putting over his work as an agent and it appears that this is where he will be used for now. With Jeff Jarrett, Mick Foley and Jim Cornette, it is felt that would be too many authority figures as TV characters, which is why the move was made. There is a possibility that Cornette could become a heel authority figure and feud with Foley.
– One of the drawbacks with the Main Event Mafia being the dominant angle in the company is that they will never be together as a group on house shows. Kurt Angle and Booker work a lot of the shows, and Steiner has in the past, but Sting will not be doing house shows. Kevin Nash isn’t booked to do house shows although the belief is he’s up for doing at least some. The thing there is that the lure of TNA for him has always been the TV’s are a short drive from home, and he does very few dates on the road, just PPV and media days.
