Tony Khan Discusses Ricochet’s Social Media Controversy, Says He Had ‘Frank Talk’ With Him

AEW Dynasty took place last night in Vancouver, wrapping up AEW’s most recent stay in the Great White North. After the event, Tony Khan took part in the traditional post-show scrum, which seemed a bit shorter than their usual scrums.
Tony Khan did discuss some pertinent topics, including Ricochet’s recent social media issues and AEW’s partnerships with other promotions. Some highlights are below:
On if he had a chance to speak with Ricochet about recent social media behavior, and if AEW has a social media policy:
“I did and I had a conversation with him. I had a good conversation and frank talk and that was not acceptable and I think that was communicated. Thank you for asking. We have had a policy, there was a policy and continues to be a policy in place for such things and that violated it and there’s no place for that in wrestling or anywhere but I do appreciate you asking and I think we we’ve tried to move past that but thank you for asking.”
On the Importance of Partnerships with Other Promotions:
“It’s very important for AEW to have great relationships with partners all over the world. We’ve added partners, built new relationships, and I think that’s a real strength of AEW that uh we work with numerous wrestling promotions that helps us bring in fans from all over the world. And I think I’ve built a lot of trust with other wrestling promoters. And my word goes a long way. And I think that that is something that now has helped us build relationships with companies that at the beginning of AEW were not our partners. We’ve grown partnerships.”
“So, I love the partnerships and that’s a great question. It’s a great aspect of it. It is something that’s really important in AEW. It’s also important in RoH. I mentioned the partnerships we have there too. Bringing in great wrestlers all over the world and being able to establish not only young wrestlers and give young wrestlers the opportunity to wrestle each other, but also to wrestle top veterans, to get experience, to put on what I think are some of the best wrestling shows with some of the top women and men in the world right now in RoH. I think our RoH pay-per-views the last few years have been some of the best shows and I love that too. I love being hands-on there too because it gives me the ability to bring in wrestlers, get to know people better and spend time with them uh outside of AEW and further grow those relationships outside of wrestling for both AEW and RoH. Thanks for asking.”
