Tony Schiavone Comments on WWE Acknowledging Sting’s Retirement on Raw

– As previously reported, the retirement of Sting that took place last Sunday at AEW Revolution was mentioned by WWE broadcasters Michael Cole and Pat McAfee last Monday during WWE Raw. Cole congratulated Sting and thanked him for all the memories. AEW and former WWE and WCW broadcaster Tony Schiavone took note of the acknowledgement during this week’s edition of What Happened When.
Schiavone noted on WWE mentioning Sting during the live broadcast (via Fightful), “Pretty cool thing, but the right thing to do.”
The Icon wrestled his last match on Sunday, teaming with Darby Allin against The Young Bucks to retain the AEW Tag Team Titles at AEW Revolution. With Sting retiring, the tag team titles will now be vacated.
