Update on Trey Miguel’s Release From AEW

AEW fans were certainly excited by the signing of The Rascalz last week. Fans who had followed the foursome of Trey Miguel, Myron Reed, Zachary Wentz & Dezmond Xavier throughout their careers were excited to know that all four men would be working in the same place for quite sometime. Unfortunately, that didn’t end up being the case, as Miguel was released before Reed, Wentz & Xavier appeared together on Collision.
There’s been a ton of speculation over why this happened. Wrestling Observer Radio’s Bryan Alverez let us in on what he heard on their show:
“No one’s really saying much. Well, some people are saying certain things, but my understanding is whatever it is, it came from up above. I know there’s a lot of rumors but it had nothing to do with anybody in AEW talent, anything like that, or Tony (Khan). Something happened from way up and he was released,” (h/t F4Wonline.com)
This isn’t the first time AEW signings have been hampered by “up above”. Memorably, Jay Briscoe was barred from appearing on AEW television after some of the things he said on social media came to light. It’s fair to assume we’ll hear more of the details on this story in the coming days.
Trey Miguel is currently taking a break from wrestling.
