New Update On Toni Storm Following AEW Dynamite Angle

Toni Storm was written off of TV on AEW Dynamite, and a new report has an update on how long she may be out of action. Wednesday night’s show has Storm scheduled to face Marina Shafir in a No Holds Barred match. However, Storm was described as attacked earlier in the day by an unknown assailant. Storm’s Timeless Love Bombs partner Mina Shirakawa took Storm’s place in the match and picked up the win over Shafir.
Fightftul Select reports that Storm was planned to wrestle on Dynamite, but was ultimately not cleared. The outlet describes the angle as a “deliberately non-contact” one and it was noted that Storm will not be back anytime soon, with AEW prepared for her not to be cleared to compete though at least the whole of 2026. The WOR reported earlier that the final decision to clear Storm wasn’t made until 10 minutes before Dynamite started.
AEW showed an image of Storm laid out backstage with a number of “clues” to start a mystery angle around the attack. The image shows Storm with a head wound in a pool of blood with a number of items around her to encourage speculation on who attacked her. The site notes that there are plans in place and a creative direction for the “attacker” storyline.
For clarity, there is no confirmed word regarding the nature of why Storm is not cleared at this time.
