I was honored to be invited to attend this years @mercyforanimals Hidden Hero’s Gala. The Hidden Hero’s Gala celebrates and honors animal rights activists, including those who go undercover to expose the disgustingly cruel and inhumane treatment of animals in corporate factory farms. Why are they undercover? Because these corporations lobby and pay a lot of money to make sure it’s illegal to document what takes place in these slaughter houses. But through the brave undercover work of these men and women, large scale reforms to improve the treatment of these animals is happening, but the work is far from done. It was an awesome experience being alongside so many compassionate, like minded ass kickers, all using our respective celebrity and influence to make a meaningful difference. Of course all the #vegan food and cocktails were delicious too. My only regret was missing my photo op with my teenage crush, @aliciasilverstone, who was being awarded for her #veganog status. All and all it was a wonderful evening I was happy to be a part of, I look forward to next year!
