– The Mr. McMahon docuseries is now streaming on Netflix. During the docuseries, Vince McMahon spoke about the period of the Monday Night Wars with WCW, and his thought process of Ted Turner and Eric Bischoff coming after him and WWE during that period in the 1990s. McMahon shared his thoughts on being targeted by Turner and Bischoff during the Monday Night Wars period. McMahon was also asked if he had any regrets over not hiring Eric Bischoff when he auditioned to be an announcer for WWE (then WWF) in 1991. Bischoff was ultimately hired by WCW becoming an announcer and later the company’s president during the Monday night Wars Era Below are some highlights (via Fightful):

Vince McMahon on how what he says is sometimes different from what he thinks: “Some would think it might be hypocritical for me to say, ‘Uh, okay, I don’t hurt someone else. I just do what’s best for me.’ Yet, when someone comes after me, I don’t think they have the right. Sure, they have the right. What I say, a lot of times, is totally different than what I think. The public doesn’t understand that sometimes. As a businessman, you have to throw things out there. It’s not really the way you feel, but it controls the thought process by doing that.”

On if he has any regrets over not hiring Eric Bischoff: “Do I regret not hiring Eric Bischoff? No. I don’t really regret anything in my life.”

WCW ultimately went out of business in 2001, with WWE and Vince McMahon acquiring the brand and ending the Monday Night Wars. Bischoff would later join WWE as an on-air talent in 2002.
