WWE News: Mayweather, De la Hoya, Possible New Night For SD, Triple H, More

– WWE is getting a ton of mainstream media attention today for the Floyd Mayweather WrestleMania involvement. Many newspapers ran the AP story on Mayweather’s involvement and $20 million payday and many radio shows have discussed WrestleMania today.

– The jobber that Vladimir Kozlov defeated in a dark match at RAW last night was “Ghostwalker” GQ Gallo.

– Tickets for the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony cost $34 or $54. Everyone who attends is being asked to wear business casual clothing. Tickets for the event go on sale this Saturday.

– Smackdown may move from Friday nights on MyNetworkTV. The two sides are currently discussing which night would be best for the show. UPN had moved Smackdown to Friday and WWE was not happy with that, so they may attempt to move the show back to Thursdays on MyNetworkTV.

– In an interview with the Las Vegas Journal, Oscar De la Hoya says he isn’t concerned about Floyd Mayweather’s involvement at WrestleMania 24. He said that everything Mayweather does to bring attention to himself will be good for their September rematch. De la Hoya did not mention the rumors that WWE tried to get him involved with WrestleMania 24 as well.

“I’m sure he’s going to have a good time and I’m sure the entertainment part of what he’s doing is going to be successful, and I’m not going to worry about him getting hurt, whatsoever,” De La Hoya continued: “Obviously, any visibility a fighter can have is great. Floyd Mayweather is doing a lot of touring and appearances, which is a plus for our September rematch. The more he does, the better.”
