WWE Raw House Show Results 09.03.2010: Ponce, PR

WWE RAW House Show in Ponce, PR on 09.03.2010

I had the opportunity to attend the show. Place was a bit over 3/4 full, around 9,000 fans. The attendance was down from Smackdown’s show last year. I guess that the card was less attractive this time with unknowns like the Nexus and Daniel Bryan on the card (people in PR are not familiar with them I guess).

– Goldust defeats Zach Ryder with the Curtain Call. HUGE pop for Goldust, but he was the first wrestler out and the people where dying for the show to start. Zach got significant offense, but Goldust won at the end. Nexus hits the ring and beat up Goldust, before Barrett cuts a promo on how they will destroy Cena, Morrison, Henry and Primo in the Main Event.

– The Hart Dynasty (D.H. Smith, Tyson and Natalya) defeat The Usos and Tamina in a 6-Person Tag Team Match. The fans exploded once the classic rift of The Hart’s theme music played. They were over HUGE, especially Natalya who posed for pictures with ringside fans. One of the Usos tapped out to David Hart Smith’s Sharpshooter to end the bout. Tyson Kidd actually botched a spot during the match when he was supposed to hold on to the ropes and get back in the ring, he slipped and landed pretty badly on the floor.

– Melina defeats Alicia Fox with the Last Call to retain the Divas title. Crowd went dead after the intros, but Melina had a nice reaction. Before the bout Eve Torres came out speaking Spanish and chose a little girl to ring the bell before the bout.

– Randy Orton defeats Sheamus by DQ when Sheamus shoved the ref. Orton had the biggest reaction by far as the fans erupted when he came out. His pop was bigger than Cena’s! Orton even kicked out after Sheamus nailed him with the Pump Kick and covered him. After the bout Sheamus grabs a chair and comes into the ring, swings at Orton and Orton ducks and nails the RKO to another gigantic pop.

– Eve Torres comes back out to throw T-Shirts and announce the intermission.

– The Miz defeats Daniel Bryan & Ted Dibiase in a 3-Way Match for the United States Title. The heels ganged up on Bryan for most of the match, but the fans barely reacted to Bryan’s offense, which was spectacular. Skull Crushing Finale on Bryan ends the bout. Maryse had a bigger reaction than the three guys. Miz cut a promo before the bout, half of it in Spanish and the crowd hated his guts.

– Evan Bourne defeats Chris Jericho after the Air Bourne. Tons of “Christina” chants at Jericho, who even abandoned the match to cut a promo on the fans telling us that his name is not Christina and that we have to respect him because he is better than all of us. Bourne dragged him back in. After a few false finishes Bourne won with Air Bourne and the crowd pop huge again.

– John Cena, Mark Henry, John Morrison & Primo Colon defeat Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater of Nexus. Cena and Morrison had the biggest pops of the group, I felt bad for local boy Primo who had a “hey it’s that guy” mild pop. Fans chanted “Eddie” at Primo when the bout began and he and Slater started things off. Gabriel ate a Backstabber from Primo, followed by the World’s Strongest Slam from Henry, followed by Starship Pain from Morrison, followed by the Attitude Adjustment from Cena and the faces won. Michael Tarver was at ringside for Nexus, but was tossed after he tripped Primo.

Overall a good show, but Smackdown’s show last year was far better and had a better crowd reaction.
