WWE’s behind-the-scenes Netflix series Unreal recently returned for its second season, and it’s still the talk of many fans. Not to mention sites like this one, where we note that the company is still only letting you see what they want you to, and probably not much more than the audience already suspects.

The idea of a show that looks behind the curtain was certainly novel when it debuted, but how is it doing now? According to Dave Meltzer, it didn’t rank in the overall top 10 shows on Netflix on its day of release, January 20th. Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he notes that the countries it did place top-ten in were the U.S. (#7), U.K. (#6), Canada (#6), New Zealand (#7), and Asutralia (#5). in the United Kingdom, it actually went up, to #4, on its second day.

Could it be that fans don’t actually want to know how the magic trick is done? Would they rather have theories about what goes on behind the scenes rather than actual documentation? Or is it that some might feel they’re still being worked by the show? Total Divas previously offered similar peeks at the creative process, but combined it with more typically soapy reality show shenanigans for the ladies on their time off.

With new episodes set for this summer, we’ll just have to see how the audience trajectory goes.
