Conor McGregor Issued Boxing License In California

December 1, 2016 | Posted by Joseph Lee

MMA Fighting reports that Conor McGregor has been issued a boxing license in the state of California.

CSAC executive officer Andy Foster said: “He got a license today and a federal ID. He’s a California boxer now.

This follows the announcement that the UFC stripped McGregor of the featherweight title after less than a year of holding it and named Jose Aldo as the new champion. McGregor is still the lightweight champion. He’s been busy teasing a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr, but an official announcement has yet to be made.

Foster added: “He’s qualified [as a boxer]. I’d love to see him fight in California. It just needs to be the right opponent. Certainly a high-level opponent. We’re happy to license him. We’re happy he’s a California fighter.
